In September of 2020, wildfires raged across Oregon killing at least 9 people and burning more than 1 million acres. Millions of people were stranded on the streets with pets, young children, and no shelter. Officials warned the community about dangerously unhealthy air quality due to the smoke from the fires. Along with theses ravaging fires, the pandemic made it even more difficult to seek help from others. In these very unprecedented times, The I Mission donated and abundance of immediate necessities (blankets, pillows, toilet paper, granola bars and snacks, prepackaged meals, water and energy drinks, first aid, toiletries, pet food and supplies, water bottles, baby food and diapers, laundry detergent, face masks, clothing, and batteries) directly to the families affected by the horrible fires. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this cause.
Cyclone Relief in India
In October of 2018, a horrific cyclone named Titli, hit the west coast of India targeting the coastal areas of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh with winds of up to 93mph. This deadly cyclone took the lives of 85 people. The blocked roads, uprooted trees, fallen electric poles, and destroyed homes were barely the brunt of the loss these people have endured. In December, on The I Mission's 3rd Annual Service Trip, we visited multiple affected villages on the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border and provided succor to victims by giving one bag of rice, one bag of lentils, two garments and cooking utensils to each affected family. The team reached out to over 200+ families in multiple villages; giving our best efforts to help those affected! Thank you all so much for the support!
